The role:
As a Technical Sales Manager, you’ll play a key role in advancing our commercial strategy across international markets, helping to bring cutting-edge marine engineering solutions to customers around the world. This is an exciting opportunity to influence the growth of a global leader while working at the forefront of defence, aerospace and engineering innovation. You will be instrumental in translating technical expertise into compelling proposals, shaping customer relationships, and supporting the development of products that make an impact on global safety and sustainability. Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of the company commercial strategy, contributing to tendering processes and shaping winning solutions.
- Build strong and lasting customer relationships, understanding client needs and sharing valuable market insights.
- Develop high‑quality, technically compliant and competitive submissions across our product portfolio.
- Manage risks and opportunities throughout the business-winning lifecycle, ensuring accurate communication and effective mitigation.
- Promote commercial compliance, maintaining governance and supporting due diligence activities.
You’ll work 37.5 hours per week, primarily based at LGE Rosyth, with two days per week on-site. Travel to customer sites and international locations will be expected.
Essential experience of the Technical Sales Manager:
- Previous experience as a Technical Superintendent, Marine Engineer, Chief Engineer, Fleet Manager or equivalent marine technical leadership role would be highly advantageous.
- Proven ability to develop trusted relationships with shipowners, operators and senior technical stakeholders. You will be naturally engaging, commercially minded and capable of translating complex technical solutions into compelling customer value propositions.
- Highly motivated, energetic and customer-focused professional with a strong desire to identify opportunities, influence decision-makers and drive business growth.
- Sound cultural awareness and the ability to work effectively across international markets.
- Strong understanding of LGE product offerings and capability to deliver confident technical presentations.
- Demonstrated experience presenting technical solutions to customers, leading technical discussions and communicating confidently with senior stakeholders.
Qualifications for the Technical Sales Manager:
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent marine engineering qualification. Applications from Chief Engineers, Technical Superintendents and other senior marine professionals with relevant commercial aptitude are highly encouraged.
- Extended industrial experience relevant to technical sales or engineering environments.

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
