Overview
In this role you will safeguard the operational capability of the UK’s advanced Royal Navy submarines by leading technical oversight of Platform Systems and ensuring design integrity from conception to acceptance. You will collaborate with internal teams and MOD stakeholders on long-term engineering solutions, contributing to safety, performance, and availability during maintenance windows. The role offers high-impact work within a mission-driven, security‑conscious environment at HMNB Clyde Faslane. You will shape engineering change, drive continuous improvement, and engage across disciplines to deliver reliable submarine systems.

Responsibilities
- Provide technical oversight across Platform Systems on submarines
- Hold full technical delegations and interface with Design and Technical Authorities
- Ensure design intent from work package creation through execution, testing and acceptance
- Collaborate with internal project teams and MOD stakeholders on long-term engineering solutions
- Participate in working groups to assess engineering change and address technical issues
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across submarine systems
Key requirements
- Demonstrable experience in submarine engineering
- Strong awareness of system engineering within mechanical or electrical disciplines
- Practical experience conducting technical audits and navigating related processes
- Strong communication skills with diverse internal and external stakeholders
