In this Bid Coordinator role at Devonport Royal Dockyard, you will drive high-value defence bid activity, coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver compliant, timely submissions. You’ll support governance and procurement processes within a major programme, helping shape bids that underpin national security and capability. You work with bid professionals across Business Development, Engineering, Commercial and Finance to ensure rigorous, well-coordinated proposals. This is a fast-paced position with clear growth in defence bid management and specialist expertise. You’ll join a mission-driven, cross-functional team focused on impactful, measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate bid management plans, schedules and documentation for a major Defence programme
- Organise bid meetings including procurement management, Kick-Offs, reviews and stakeholder engagements
- Manage procurement portals and ensure timely submission of bid materials
- Produce regular bid reports and track progress against milestones
- Support Gate governance processes (Gates 0–6) within the bid lifecycle
Key requirements
- 1–2 years of bid coordination or proposal support experience
- Strong understanding of governance frameworks and structured bid methodologies (Gate Governance, Shipley colour team reviews)
- Knowledge of UK MOD procurement processes, portals and commercial contracting mechanisms
- Experience in complex, large-scale engineering, defence or similar environments
- Willingness to travel within the UK
- Desirable APMP membership or certifications (Foundation/Practitioner)
