Overview
As Cyber Security Lead at Devonport Royal Dockyard, you guide cyber security across large infrastructure programs to satisfy MoD cyber obligations and Secure by Design. You’ll lead assurance activities from concept to delivery, shaping design decisions and system resilience with delivery teams and senior stakeholders. Your work directly supports secure, trusted digital systems in a critical public sector context. This role blends technical leadership with governance engagement and design influence.

Responsibilities
- Lead Secure by Design technical assurance across multiple infrastructure projects
- Conduct threat modelling using STRIDE and attack trees
- Perform cyber risk assessments aligned to NIST 800-30/37 and ISO 27005
- Produce technical assurance evidence including risk treatment plans and residual risk statements
- Engage governance forums and stakeholders, including MoD representatives
Key requirements
- Proven experience leading Secure by Design activities across complex services or portfolios
- Background supporting defence, Ministry of Defence or UK public sector environments
- Deep understanding of cyber risk frameworks, including NIST CSF and ISO 27005
- Experience producing clear, decision-focused technical assurance outputs
- Ability to influence multi-disciplinary engineering and delivery teams
- Stakeholder engagement

- Clear communication and influencing skills
