The role involves:
- Acting as the product owner for a range of machined parts and assemblies, both simple and highly complex.
- Providing technical expertise in the development, launch, and support of manufacturing methods for a wide range of machined products and assemblies.
- Maintaining product support throughout its manufacturing lifecycle, liaising with various production, procurement, and engineering stakeholders.
- Supporting the estimation and design of new, innovative designs ensuring they are suitable for manufacture.
- Supporting technical investment projects engaging with key stakeholders and aligning outcomes to budgets and improvements.
This is a full-time, on-site role, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Essential experience of the Manufacturing Engineer:
- Strong experience in milling and turning, with the ability to resolve complex manufacturing challenges.
- Proven experience estimating machining and assembly processes from 2D drawings and 3D models.
- Computer literate and able to pick up new software/ERP (IFS/SAP etc).
- Understanding of various work holding options and the design of innovative fixture methods, with a background in manufacturing engineering being beneficial.
