In this Senior Buyer role, you will drive procurement excellence for defence and engineering programmes. You’ll manage end-to-end purchasing, negotiate with suppliers, and secure contracts to support projects that underpin national security and critical infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with internal stakeholders and lead improvement efforts to cut costs and raise performance. Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end purchasing activities from sourcing to contract placement
- Lead supplier relationship and performance management to meet objectives
- Handle complex, high-value purchase orders through delivery
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies
- Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence against KPIs
Key requirements
- Experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain within defence, engineering, manufacturing, or regulated environments
- Ability to build and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Experience using ERP systems in a procurement context
- Strong commercial awareness to prioritise and resolve competing demands
- Experience with supplier performance management, sourcing, and contract negotiations
- Security clearance capability (SC and DV) or ability to obtain
