The role:
As a Procurement Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting some of the United Kingdom's most exciting clean energy and infrastructure programmes. Working across major projects, you'll partner with stakeholders, suppliers, and project teams to deliver innovative procurement solutions that drive value, performance, and operational success. This is an opportunity to influence critical procurement decisions across complex engineering projects while developing your expertise within the nuclear, defence, and clean energy sectors. Your work will directly contribute to projects that support national infrastructure, energy security, and the transition to a more sustainable future. With opportunities to broaden your experience across major programmes, including future secondment opportunities within the MEH Alliance, this role offers excellent scope for professional growth and career progression.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
- Manage sourcing and tendering activities to deliver cost-effective and technically robust supply chain solutions.
- Lead supplier negotiations to maximise commercial value and secure successful project outcomes.
- Develop procurement strategies through early engagement with stakeholders and project teams.
- Monitor supplier performance, manage supply chain risks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Planning, Project Management, and commercial teams to ensure successful delivery of materials and services.
This is a full-time, permanent role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based at Bristol Business Park, Bristol or Warrington. Hybrid working patterns are available. Travel to Bristol and Hinkley Point C will be expected approximately once per month.
Essential experience of the Procurement Specialist:
- Demonstrable experience in end-to-end procurement, sourcing, tendering, contract award, and supplier management activities.
- Experience managing supplier performance, delivery schedules, and commercial relationships within a complex project environment.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, commercial principles, and contract terms and conditions.
- Experience within an engineering, nuclear, construction, manufacturing, aerospace, energy, utilities, oil and gas, or similar technical industry.
- Proven ability to engage and influence internal stakeholders and suppliers to achieve successful commercial outcomes.
Qualifications for the Procurement Specialist:
- Degree qualified or equivalent professional experience.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
