The role
As a Welder Fabricator, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of our aviation engineering operations, helping to design and manufacture critical components that support our defence and aerospace missions. This is a hands-on role where your craftsmanship and precision will directly contribute to national security and operational readiness. It’s a chance to grow your skills, work with cutting-edge equipment, and be part of a team that values quality, safety, and innovation.
Day-to-day, you’ll be:
- Operating the engraving machine (training provided if needed)
- Adhering to the local tool control system
- Ensuring all tasks are completed safely and efficiently
- Deputising for the metal workshop inventory
- Maintaining workshop machinery as directed by the Team Leader
This role is full time, working 39 hours per week on-site at Cranwell.
Essential experience of the Welder Fabricator

Qualifications for the Welder Fabricator
- Level 3 Qualification in a Metal Workshop Engineering Discipline
- Level 3 Qualification in MIG/TIG Welding (Mild Steel, Stainless Steel & Aluminium)

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
