The role:
As a Materials Planner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will become a key link between commercial, engineering, construction, supply chain and project delivery teams. By coordinating materials planning and sequencing activities, you’ll help ensure we have the right components, in the right place, at the right time. It’s a role that will strengthen your experience across supply chain, planning and operations, offering meaningful career growth and exposure to complex engineering environments.
Day-to-day you’ll be required to:
- Support maintenance teams by identifying and coordinating material requirements for planned operational work
- Plan and sequence materials for spares, repairs and non-conforming items to meet inventory and demand targets
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to operational teams across multiple work packages
- Assist in identifying correct material quality, quantity and status to meet maintenance commitments
- Oversee critical and strategic spares, including identification, procurement and inventory management
The role is based onsite at Devonport, and the set working times are Monday to Friday, totalling 35 hours per week.
Essential experience of the Materials Planner:
- Experience in stock control or inventory administration
- Proficiency using software such as MS Office and SAP
- Understanding of supply chain processes from demand through to delivery
Qualifications for the Materials Planner:
- Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration, Logistics, Warehousing or equivalent experience in materials planning
- Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
