As a Lifting Engineer, you will take ownership of the planning and delivery of complex lifting operations within one of the UK’s most significant nuclear construction projects. This is a full‑time role, working 37 hours per week and based at our Hinkley Point C site.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities:
- Producing detailed lift plans, procedures and coordination studies for complex operations
- Selecting appropriate lifting methods, cranes and equipment to meet safety and project requirements
- Ensuring compliance with nuclear safety standards, legislation and site‑specific procedures
- Briefing lifting teams and supervisors to ensure full understanding of plans and safe systems of work
- Identifying hazards, resolving constraints and supporting safe, integrated delivery across site activities
Essential experience:
- Experience producing lift plans within major construction or infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of lifting operations, rigging and crane planning
- Understanding of health, safety and compliance standards in high‑risk environments
- Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and site stakeholders
- Coordinating activities and prioritising workload within complex project environments
