Lead High-Impact Lifting Operations On One Of The UK’s Most Complex Nuclear Construction Projects.
This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance works across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services.
The role:
- As a Lifting Construction Manager, you will take ownership of all rigging and lifting operations across a major nuclear new build programme.
- This is a senior leadership position where your expertise will directly influence safety, productivity, and delivery across a complex, multi-building construction environment.
- This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week and based at our Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset site.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
- Lead rigging and lifting teams through superintendents, driving performance and accountability.
- Drive productivity, attendance, and working standards across the workforce.
- Own forward planning, including 16-week lookahead schedules for lifting activities.
- Forecast labour requirements and align resources to programme delivery.
- Promote a strong nuclear safety culture through leadership, inspections, and compliance.
Essential experience:
- Holding significant experience leading lifting and rigging operations on major construction projects.
- Demonstrating senior leadership capability managing large teams in high-pressure environments.
- Operating within highly regulated or high-hazard industries such as nuclear, defence or infrastructure.
- Managing workforce performance, productivity frameworks and delivery targets.
- Collaborating effectively with multiple stakeholders across complex project environments.
Qualifications:
- CPCS Blue Card and ECITB Appointed Person certification (TAP01) – essential.
- NVQ Level 3 in Steel Erecting or Moving Loads – desirable.
- IOSH, SMSTS or SSSTS safety qualifications – desirable.
