The role involves working as a Senior Mechanical Engineer as part of a JV team on the Nuclear Technical Support Provider (NTSP) framework. This seven year framework, with the option of a further three years, will deliver specialist nuclear technical services valued between £250-million to £400-million to support DIO, Navy Command and other MOD organisations. The framework will support the Clyde Infrastructure Programme (CIP) and wider Royal Navy and defence requirements, focusing on delivering the refurbishment and upgrade of critical infrastructure at HMNB Clyde.

Key accountabilities:

  • Promote effective co-operation across Engineering and other functional teams
  • Assist in effective management of the customer, including liaison and relationship development with existing and new customers, to aid the development of business, resolution of technical and delivery issues, and ensure the customer is fully briefed and informed of progress
  • Ensure procedures, codes and standards are correctly identified and applied to engineering and technical activities
  • Contribute to Project Safety Assessment process
  • Produce, review and approve calculations, analyses, drawings, models, design basis documentation and technical reports as assigned
  • Maintain the engineering configuration, ensuring the overall design intent and integrity is maintained throughout the design lifecycle

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.

Essential experience:

  • Experience in working collaboratively in multi-discipline teams to deliver activities on a range of project types
  • Demonstrable experience in covering a variety of tasks across a range of complexities
  • Good communication skills and the ability to interface with other disciplines
