The role:
- Providing a high level of professional security support to all business functions across Mission Systems.
- Responsible for the effective delivery of all day-to-day business security related matters ensuring key support functions are delivered in a smart, flexible and holistic manner.
- Ensuring that all security requirements are met by the business and are compliant with Babcock Policy and other internal requirements as well as all external contractual obligations, legal requirements, and policy frameworks.
- Managing all aspects of access control such as verifying clearances and Need to Know, printing passes and running reports.
- Delivering all documentation required to maintain an efficient and compliant FSC area.
- Acting as the key point of contact to both internal and external stakeholders to enable an open and transparent working relationship focused on resolving issues as they arise.
- Responsibility for regulating, monitoring and reporting on the secure operating processes of all electronic security systems.
This role is full time OR part time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 4 days in the office/onsite and 1 day working from home.
Essential experience of the Security Specialist:
- Knowledge of all aspects of the Security Policy Framework / GOV S007.
- Possess well developed IT skills.
- Good practical understanding of the general requirements necessary to maintain compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
- Good knowledge of security risk management practices and the identification, implementation and monitoring of current risk mitigation techniques and processes.
- Knowledge of the JSP 490 and associated COMSEC requirements.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role.
