The role:

As a Health Physicist, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the safe delivery of nuclear-related projects, helping to protect people, infrastructure and the environment. Working on the 3 Dock Redevelopment at Rosyth, you’ll be at the forefront of implementing and embedding world-class radiological safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing expert advice on radiological safety across nuclear-related projects
  • Supporting hazard identification and risk assessments for designs and operations
  • Implementing radiological protection measures, including shielding and containment systems
  • Advising on monitoring, dosimetry, ventilation and emergency arrangements
  • Collaborating with project teams to ensure compliance with regulatory and site licence requirements

This role is full time, 36 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements on a flexible basis.

Essential experience:

  • Demonstrating experience in a similar role or transferable expertise in radiological protection
  • Applying strong analytical skills to solve complex technical challenges
  • Communicating clearly and confidently with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Building effective relationships and influencing decision-making across teams
  • Managing challenging situations with resilience and professionalism, with knowledge of emergency planning or REPPIR 2019 being advantageous

Qualifications:

  • A degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience in radiological protection
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant subject is desirable
  • Accredited Radiation Protection Advisor status or happy to work towards is desirable

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
