The role
As a Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of delivering some of the most innovative and high‑integrity engineering projects in the UK. In this role, you’ll lead complex programmes within an Advanced Manufacturing environment – projects that contribute directly to national security, operational capability, and the future of defence engineering.
Day‑to‑day you’ll be required to:
- Build and lead an integrated project delivery team, bringing together Project Management, Engineering, Commercial, Procurement, SHEQ and Supply Chain specialists.
- Manage customer interfaces and internal stakeholders, ensuring project clarity, alignment and effective communication.
- Identify, assess and manage project risks, developing and implementing robust mitigation strategies.
- Lead projects to achieve world‑class performance through continuous improvement and adoption of new technologies.
- Maintain governance arrangements, defining clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities for successful project delivery.
This role is full time, 36 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Project Manager
- Experience delivering projects across a range of products, services and lifecycle phases.
- Broad awareness of lifecycle requirements across key supporting functions.
- Working knowledge of contracting methodologies such as FIDIC, NEC or JCT.
- Experience using CEMAR or similar contract management tools (preferred).
- Experience working in Advanced Manufacturing or Nuclear‑grade projects (preferred).
Qualifications for the Project Manager
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in a project or engineering discipline.
- Project Management qualification (e.g., APM PMQ, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or equivalent) – Preferred
- Professional membership or working toward chartership – Preferred

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
