The role
As a Procurement Lead, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral cog in the supply chain and procurement function. Supporting the delivery of project objectives through sourcing and rigorous management of contract and supplier performance.
Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for the supply chain design, sourcing, contracting and procurement of materials and services to meet project objectives for cost, schedule, and quality. You’ll also:
- Design of supply chains to meet project requirements and maximise performance whilst minimising risk and complexity.
- Effective incorporation of group and divisional category strategies into the supply chain design for the project.
- Lead the onboarding of suppliers and negotiation of terms and conditions, supported by commercial.
- Establishing supplier performance monitoring and development initiatives.
- Leading a team of Buyers with responsibility for their performance and professional development.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days in the office/onsite and days working from home.
Essential experience of the Procurement Lead:
- Experienced procurement practitioner with deep knowledge of current strategic procurement techniques with significant experience in sourcing and procurement.
- Extensive experience working in complex project environments.
- Proven track record of delivering excellent supply chain performance.
- In depth and practical knowledge of sourcing, market analysis, supplier due diligence, tendering, contract negotiations and awarding contracts.
- Deep understanding of contract terms and conditions and the ability to draft contracts including management of flow-down terms from customer prime contract.
Qualifications for the Procurement Lead:
- MCIPS level 5 or studying towards MCIPS or equivalent professional qualifications.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
