Lead the Future of Nuclear Waste Management
The role
As a Principal Environmental Consultant, you’ll apply your expertise to solve complex challenges, influence national energy security, and help shape sustainable solutions for the future. This is a strategic role where your decisions matter — driving innovation and supporting our rapid growth agenda.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction and mentor team members.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
- Drive consultancy growth in line with Cavendish Nuclear’s strategy.
- Lead the development and implementation of integrated waste management strategies.
- Resolve technical issues and compile detailed reports and presentations.
This is a permanent position, working 37 hours per week, based in Warrington, Cheshire. Hybrid working patterns are available.
Essential experience
- Extensive experience in the nuclear industry with applied knowledge across areas such as decommissioning, site restoration, spent fuel management, and environmental planning.
- Proven ability to develop waste management strategies and liaise with regulators and clients.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
- Consultancy experience and familiarity with industry best practice.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering or Science.
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer or Scientist status (essential).
- Additional certifications in waste management or nuclear safety (advantageous).
