The role:

  • As a Training Analyst and Design Manager, you’ll play a critical role in developing the workforce capabilities that underpin complex submarine and warship maintenance programmes.
  • Leading training analysis and design activities within a major capability enhancement programme, you’ll ensure that people have the right skills, knowledge and competence to deliver essential defence operations safely and effectively.
  • Day-to-day, you’ll have an exciting opportunity to shape how training is designed and delivered across a highly technical environment.
  • You’ll work at the intersection of engineering, education and operational delivery—driving improvements in performance, supporting continuous learning, and influencing how capability evolves across the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading training analysis and design activities to identify and meet workforce capability needs.
  • Managing and developing a team of analysts and learning design specialists.
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts to create effective, high-quality training solutions.
  • Designing structured training approaches aligned to operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Driving continuous improvement across training processes, systems and learning interventions.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.

Essential experience:

  • Strong analytical capability with experience interpreting training or workforce requirements.
  • Proven ability to deliver projects to time, cost and quality targets.
  • Experience working collaboratively with stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive, commercially aware approach with a focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Degree-level qualification in training analysis, technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
