The role involves leading a nationally significant programme spanning more than 20 years, delivering activities that haven’t been undertaken in the UK for decades and supporting one of the most specialised stages of the submarine lifecycle.
Day-to-day, you’ll:
- Lead a defined project scope, setting direction, deploying resources and driving collaboration to deliver agreed outcomes.
- Manage and develop people across direct, dotted‑line and matrix structures, driving high performance and cohesion.
- Oversee governance, processes and reporting, ensuring clear visibility of progress, priorities and compliance.
- Control financial, operational and subcontractor resources, ensuring delivery aligns with agreed cost, time and quality.
- Lead risk and issue management activities, identifying and mitigating threats and opportunities.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home.
Essential experience:
- Demonstrated experience in schedule planning and management.
- Strong background in risk, opportunity and issue management.
- Practical knowledge of budgeting, cost control and financial oversight.
- Proven leadership capability with experience managing and developing teams.
- Experience engaging, influencing and managing stakeholders and communications.
Qualifications:
- APM Project Management Qualification or a degree in a STEM or business discipline.
- APM Project Risk Management Level 2 - Desirable
- Project Planning and Controls Foundation - Desirable
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
