This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Financial Business Services team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, supporting a business that delivers critical capability across defence, aerospace and engineering.
The role:
- As a Financial Reporting Manager, you'll be joining a high-performing team at the heart of Babcock's finance function.
- Working closely with senior stakeholders, you'll lead financial reporting, governance and control activities while helping shape the future of finance services across the business.

Day-to-day you’ll be responsible for:
- Leading and developing a motivated finance team, setting objectives and supporting professional growth.
- Managing the transition of finance activities into the team as the function continues to evolve.
- Driving the standardisation and improvement of finance policies, processes and controls across the business.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, Group accounting policies and financial governance requirements.
- Preparing and overseeing statutory accounts, compliance reporting and corporate tax deliverables for Land & Aviation entities.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on a 12-month fixed term contract and is fully remote. Travel to Devonport, Plymouth will be required on a quarterly basis for team meetings.
Essential experience:
- Demonstrable experience leading, developing and managing teams within a finance function.
- Strong audit background with extensive statutory accounts preparation experience.
- Experience reviewing, improving and streamlining finance processes and controls.
- Advanced technical accounting expertise with the ability to communicate complex concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
- Experience using finance systems such as SAP, Navision, IFS or similar, alongside strong Microsoft Office skills.
Qualifications:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Experience operating within a large, complex organisation.
- Knowledge of IFRS and broader financial reporting frameworks.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
