As an Assistant Package Manager, you’ll support the delivery of complex construction and infrastructure packages across a major programme environment. Working at the heart of a large-scale defence project, you’ll contribute to every stage of the project lifecycle, from design development through to construction and project close-out. Day‑to‑day, you’ll have an excellent opportunity to develop your career in project and engineering management, gaining exposure to large, regulated programmes while working alongside multidisciplinary teams. The role offers meaningful, hands‑on experience that directly contributes to national defence capability.

  • Supporting the delivery of infrastructure and construction packages across design, procurement and build phases
  • Coordinating activities between engineering, commercial and supply chain teams to ensure smooth project execution
  • Monitoring project performance, including progress, cost and quality metrics
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to maintain effective communication and alignment
  • Contributing to safe, compliant delivery in line with project and regulatory requirements

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential experience of the Assistant Package Manager:

  • Experience working within construction or infrastructure project environments
  • Understanding of engineering design and construction processes
  • Knowledge of reinforced concrete construction and temporary works
  • Familiarity with procurement processes and contract administration
  • Experience working in regulated or safety‑critical environments

Qualifications for the Assistant Package Manager:

  • Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • CSCS card
