The role
As a Pilot, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Babcock Mission Critical Services Onshore (BMCSO), a leading provider of mission-critical helicopter services to the air ambulance and police sectors, provides world-class operations to our customers helping them to save lives and protect communities every day.

Day to day, you’ll be conducting single pilot day and night HEMS in support of the Northwest Air Ambulance charity. The role also involves health and safety responsibilities and requires a strong understanding of required Aviation regulations.

This role is full time, 42 hours per week with a 4 day on / 4 day off roster and is based at the Barton base, Eccles, Greater Manchester. You will be required to reside within 25 nautical miles or 45 minutes.

Essential experience of the Pilot

  • 1000 hours pilot in command of aircraft of which 500 hours is pilot in command on twin turbine helicopters; OR 1000 hours as co-pilot in HEMS/Police operations of which 500 hours is as pilot in command under supervision and 100 hours pilot in command of twin turbine helicopters.
  • 2000 hours minimum total helicopter experience
  • 500 hours operating experience in twin turbine helicopters in an operational environment similar to the intended operation.
  • 20 hours VFR at night as pilot in command.

Qualifications for the Pilot

  • Hold a UK ATPL(H) or CPL(H) + IR
  • Full UK Aviation class 1 medical

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain BPSS security clearance for this role.
