At Cavendish Nuclear we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a MEWP Manager at our Hinkley Point C site. This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance works across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station’s vast network of rooms.
The role involves:
- Utilising your HSE leadership expertise to build and ensure a strong HSE culture throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensuring activities are carried out in accordance with CDM regulations and with the site and MEH H&S plan.
- Providing detailed information to construction teams regarding the accountability of assets and process for hand over or hand back of assets to others.
- Reviewing documentation linked to PTEC throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Creating and issuing a weekly PTEC asset report for accountable scope.
- Issuing any safety notices which impact the accountable equipment and quarantining as required.
- Working in accordance with MEHA site operational procedures.
- Managing the forecast of the required MEWPS and Working at Height Equipment for the MEH by working with the MEH Area Leads sixteen week forecasts.
Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role. This role is full time, 37 hours per week, and is based on site at Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset.
Essential experience of the MEWP Manager:
- Demonstrable Working from Height experience.
- Experience working within large scale projects.
- Experience of working in a Joint Venture or Alliance environment.
Qualifications for the MEWP Manager:
- SMSTS.
- MEWPs for Managers.
- IPAF 1b, 3a and 3b.
- MEWP Demonstrator – if not held to be sent on a course within six months.
- CITB HSE Test.
- CCNSG Safety Passport or HS&E Test - Managers and Professionals.
