Location: Devonport, Plymouth, GB, PL1 4SG

Work arrangement: Hybrid, minimum 3 days onsite, 35 hours per week.

Compensation: £28,300 - £35,400 depending on experience + benefits.

Power Critical Defence Programmes Through Smart Supply Planning.

As a Material and Inventory Planner, you will play a vital role ensuring the right materials are available at the right time to support complex engineering and production activities at one of the UK’s most strategically important defence sites. Your work will directly enable delivery across ship and submarine programmes that are critical to national security.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Planning and managing material planned orders through Babcock’s ERP systems, including SAP.
  • Managing inventory demand and enablement to meet operational requirements within business policies and budgets.
  • Acting as the interface between production, projects, supply chain and inventory teams to ensure effective material availability.
  • Driving continuous improvement to enhance planning processes, data quality and system effectiveness.

Essential Experience:

  • Experience in inventory planning and control techniques within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong analytical thinking, planning and organisational skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with ability to own issues through to resolution.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement principles.
  • Experience or knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems - Desirable.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Level 2 NVQ or equivalent educational standard.
  • Experience using master production scheduling and material requirements planning systems.
  • Further qualifications or training in supply chain, logistics or materials management - Desirable.

Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
