The role:

As a Workshop Instructor, you’ll play a key role in delivering hands‑on engineering training to military students at the Defence School of Electronic and Mechanical Engineering. Working as part of a highly skilled and supportive team, you’ll help learners develop essential technical skills that form the foundation of their careers in the Armed Forces. Responsibilities:

• Delivering practical workshop training in core engineering skills such as fitting, drilling, and grinding.
• Preparing and developing engaging teaching and learning materials to support course delivery.
• Supporting and guiding students throughout their training to ensure successful outcomes.
• Assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback.
• Maintaining a safe and effective learning environment within the workshop.

This role is full time and based on site at MOD Lyneham, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Essential experience:

• Using measuring and calibration tools such as gauge blocks and slip gauges.
• Manufacturing and fabricating to engineering drawings.
• Strong craft and technical abilities.

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
