The role

As a Facility Owner, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining the readiness and long‑term operability of a nationally important nuclear capability. This is a senior, influential role where engineering leadership, operational insight and strategic decision‑making come together. You’ll take ownership of facility and capability readiness, supporting initial and full operating conditions, and ensuring safe, effective operation within a highly regulated environment. Working closely with engineering, design, defence and government stakeholders, you’ll help shape solutions that stand the test of time — while developing your own career at the forefront of complex nuclear infrastructure.

Day‑to‑day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:

  • Providing operational ownership of facility and capability readiness through initial and full operating conditions
  • Working collaboratively with design and engineering teams to ensure solutions are practical, safe and sustainable across the lifecycle
  • Overseeing compliance with nuclear safety, licensing and regulatory requirements
  • Leading and influencing multidisciplinary teams through change and organisational development
  • Engaging stakeholders across defence, government and engineering partners to align outcomes and expectations

This role is Full time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday and based onsite at Rosyth. Hybrid working patterns are available.

Essential experience of the Facility Owner:

  • Proven experience overseeing nuclear operations in a highly regulated environment
  • Strong understanding of nuclear safety, licensing and regulatory engagement
  • Demonstrated leadership across engineering, design and organisational change
  • Experience managing and influencing multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills within defence, government or nuclear sectors

Qualifications for the Facility Owner:

  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional status
  • Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
