Occupational Psychologist at Hereford, supporting our customer a Specialist Military Unit.

This is a unique opportunity to apply evidence‑based psychological principles across assessment, coaching, learning, wellbeing and organisational development while collaborating closely with Ministry of Defence psychologists, Defence scientific specialists, and international partners.

Day‑to‑day, your work will directly influence operational capability, contribute to national security, and support the careers and welfare of those who serve.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence‑based psychological assessment, development and coaching to enhance individual and team performance.
  • Apply occupational psychology principles across selection, learning, wellbeing and organisational initiatives.
  • Conduct research, analyse data and present insights to specialist and non‑specialist audiences.
  • Lead and deliver group‑based and individual psychological interventions.
  • Collaborate with MOD psychologists, Defence scientists, internal stakeholders and international partners on shared projects.

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and is based on site at Hereford.

Essential Experience

  • Experience applying occupational psychology in complex, high‑performance or safety‑critical environments.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to varied audiences.
  • Recognised qualification and experience in coaching.
  • Experience delivering psychological interventions in both group and individual settings.
  • Experience delivering and interpreting psychometric assessments, evidenced by BPS RQTU membership or eligibility.

Qualifications

  • MSc in Occupational Psychology (BPS accredited).
  • HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist and Chartered Occupational Psychologist (BPS).

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) / Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role. Must be British Nationals.
