The role

As an Explosive Handling Jetty Facility Manager, you'll take ownership of the management, operation and maintenance of a highly specialised facility that plays a vital role in supporting the UK's defence capabilities.

You will ensure the safe, efficient and compliant operation of critical infrastructure, helping to deliver engineering support services that directly contribute to national security.

  • Day-to-day responsibilities
  • Leading and motivating the Explosive Handling Jetty team to deliver safe, efficient and effective operations.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety, security, environmental and quality requirements across the facility.
  • Acting as the Facility Operator's representative at Nuclear Safety Committees and key stakeholder forums.
  • Managing resources, equipment and operational activities to maximise facility availability and performance.
  • Supporting the delivery of engineering and infrastructure services in accordance with cost, quality and time objectives.

This is a 36 hour per week role based at HMNB Clyde. This role is onsite.

Essential experience

  • Experience managing complex operational facilities, infrastructure or engineering environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Explosive Handling Jetty operations, procedures and processes.
  • Experience leading teams and managing operational performance in a regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
  • Experience of programme management and maintenance management activities.

Qualifications

  • Degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent qualification.
  • Working at Heights certification.
  • Confined Space Competent Person certification.
  • DSEAR Awareness Training for Line Managers.
  • Additional qualifications in facilities management, infrastructure operations or leadership.
  • Experience within defence, nuclear, marine engineering or highly regulated industries.
  • Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
