As a Combat Systems Multi Skilled Operative, you will support Fleet Engineering teams in maintaining and enhancing critical defence capabilities.
Working at HMNB Clyde, you will help ensure submarines, surface vessels and key infrastructure remain safe, available and operational.

Your contribution will directly support national security while letting you develop a broad range of technical, operational and maintenance skills.
- Day‑to‑day responsibilities
- Support engineering teams to deliver planned preventative maintenance activities across fleet assets.
- Assist with identification and rectification of equipment defects, system issues and engineering alterations.
- Maintain compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements, safe systems of work and control of work procedures.
- Manage the control, issue and return of work equipment required for engineering activities.
- Contribute ideas and improvements that increase productivity, efficiency and operational performance.
This role is 36 hours per week, based at HMNB Clyde, working Monday to Thursday.
Essential experience
- Experience supporting engineering, maintenance or fleet operations environments.
- Experience with work equipment associated with engineering activities, such as scaffolding, lifting operations or materials handling equipment.
- Knowledge of manual handling procedures and safe working practices.
- Experience working with Risk Assessments, COSHH and Safe Systems of Work.
- Experience controlling, issuing and managing work equipment in a regulated environment.
Qualifications
- Confined Spaces for Competent Persons certification.
- Occasional Climber / Working at Height qualification.
- Full UK Driving Licence (Category B).
- Security Clearance
Successful candidates must be a sole UK national who can achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance for this role.
