The role:
As a Senior Planner, you will play a pivotal role in delivering complex, high-value infrastructure projects that support the UK’s defence and energy capabilities. Working within a collaborative joint venture environment, you will develop and manage integrated project schedules, ensuring robust planning standards and accurate forecasting across all stages of delivery.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining detailed project schedules using Primavera P6
- Creating and managing work breakdown structures and organisational breakdown structures
- Updating schedules to reflect forecast dates and estimates at completion
- Performing earned value analysis to monitor project performance
- Supporting programme leadership and mentoring junior planners within the team
Essential experience of the Senior Planner:
- Demonstrable expertise in Primavera P6 planning software
- Experience within construction or engineering projects in highly regulated environments
- Proven experience working within a project controls or planning team
- Strong understanding of planning methodologies and schedule management
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary and joint venture teams
Qualifications for the Senior Planner:
- A recognised project management or engineering qualification, or equivalent experience
- APM accreditation or equivalent is desirable
- Knowledge of NEC4 contracts and nuclear sector experience would be advantageous
