As a Plumber, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the safety, efficiency, and reliability of essential facilities across the estate. Working as part of a close‑knit team, you’ll deliver both planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of mechanical systems, from water services to heating and drainage. This is a hands‑on role where your expertise directly supports operational readiness while offering you the opportunity to further develop your technical skills in a dynamic engineering environment.

  • Respond to reactive maintenance tasks such as leaks, blockages, and system faults
  • Diagnose and repair faults across plumbing, heating, and water hygiene systems
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and support inventory management
  • Support general site operations by ensuring systems remain safe, compliant, and fully operational

Please note that this position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time. The role is based onsite at Chatham, and the set working times are Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:30, totalling 40 hours per week. Overtime is available.

Essential experience of the Plumber:

  • Demonstrable plumbing experience, ideally within a commercial or facilities environment
  • Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance
  • Ability to fault find and repair a range of mechanical and plumbing systems
  • Strong understanding of health and safety and compliance standards
