The role

As a Electrical Vehicle Technician, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be part of a highly skilled team supporting customers including the police, fire, and ambulance service.

Babcock delivers the design, manufacture and support of customised vehicles and protective solutions. Our customers include the emergency services, civil service, military, and other security focused organisations based in the UK and overseas.

Day-to-day, you’ll

  • Fit, repair, install and integrate enhanced electrical and electronic systems in motor vehicles.
  • Fault finding and rectification.
  • Design and develop electrical solutions for vehicles.
  • Vehicle conversions can include mechanical, electrical, bodywork, fabrication, welding and painting.

Please note that this position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.

This role is full time, 40 hours per week and is based on site at Walsall.

Essential experience of the Electrical Vehicle Technician

  • Experience within a similar role (demonstrated working experience with vehicles)
  • Fault finding of vehicle electrical systems and rectification work and able to read and interpret electrical wiring plans and diagrams.
  • Ability to work safely in an industrial environment.

Qualifications for the Electrical Vehicle Technician

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain UK – BPSS + Non Police Personnel Vetting 2 security clearance for this role.
