The role:
As a Software Engineer, you’ll join our Babcock LGE digital services team to design, build and improve the applications that power lgecosystem—our digital platform that supports vessel operations with remote monitoring, knowledge and collaboration tools. Your work will help customers operate safely and efficiently across global maritime missions, and it will accelerate your own growth through exposure to full-stack engineering, product thinking and real-world impact in defence, aerospace and engineering.
Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:
- Design accessible, responsive web pages using HTML and CSS.
- Maintain and continuously improve our front-end applications.
- Connect front end to back-end services and APIs for secure, efficient data flow.
- Test functionality to assure reliability and performance across lgecosystem.
This role is full time 37.5 hours per week, based at Rosyth. Hybrid working patterns are available; typical expectation is three days on site.
Essential experience:
- Background in software development with a systematic, logical approach.
- Proficient using Git and collaborative repositories.
- Clear, confident communication skills with stakeholders and teammates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science or a related discipline.
