The role is to strengthen the resilience of our Marine Sector. Your work will ensure that in times of crisis or operational disruption, we have the right frameworks, plans, and processes in place to protect people, assets, and national capability. This is a role with real purpose contributing directly to the UK’s defence, maritime readiness, and long‑term operational continuity.
Day‑to‑day you’ll be required to:
- Deliver and maintain Business Impact Analyses and Business Continuity Plans across the Marine Sector.
- Lead the design and rollout of annual exercises covering business continuity, crisis management and emergency response.
- Act as a key continuity coordinator during incidents, supporting recovery and response teams.
- Produce clear performance reporting and insights for Marine Sector leadership.
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams, regulators, customers and suppliers to ensure alignment and assurance.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and requires regular travel to Rosyth or Devonport on a weekly / monthly basis alongside home working arrangements.
Essential experience:
- Leading programmes covering business continuity and resilience strategies.
- Developing, implementing and maintaining BIAs and BCPs.
- Designing and delivering resilience exercises and training programmes.
- Coordinating crisis or emergency response activity in complex organisations.
- Engaging and influencing senior stakeholders internally and externally.
Qualifications:
- Qualified by experience in resilience, business continuity or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in a similar role with strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Experience gained within engineering, manufacturing or other highly regulated industries – Desirable.
Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
