The role
As an Inventory Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring the effective management of inventory, spares and repairs across a complex supply chain environment. Working closely with customers, procurement teams and operational stakeholders, you'll use data, insight and strong relationship‑building skills to optimise inventory performance and support critical programme delivery. This role offers excellent opportunities to broaden your supply chain, logistics and inventory management expertise within a leading defence, aerospace and engineering organisation.
Day‑to‑day, you’ll be required to:
- Managing and maintaining the integrity of inventory data and inventory management systems.
- Monitoring and reporting performance against key internal and customer service level agreements and key performance indicators.
- Coordinating the end‑to‑end spares and repairs supply chain process, engaging stakeholders throughout.
- Supporting demand and supply planning by providing inventory insight, analysis and recommendations.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives and overseeing stock movements between internal locations.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home. Some travel to other sites will be required.
Essential experience
- Experience delivering excellent customer service in a fast‑paced operational environment.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience managing competing priorities with strong time and workload management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications Desirable not essential:
- IT systems including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- ERP Systems – IFS & SAP knowledge would be advantageous.
- Knowledge and experience of MoD systems (BIWMS, CRISP, SS3, JAMES) and processes (DLF)
- Ability to run presentations in front of a wide variety of stakeholders including senior leaders of the company and customer
