At Cavendish Nuclear we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Commercial Manager, at our Stoke Gifford (Bristol), or Warrington (Cheshire), or Leicester (Leicestershire) site.

The role:

  • Manage contract requirements, evaluate compliance, advise on contractual rights and obligations, and oversee change control processes.
  • Act as an escalation point for high-risk or complex commercial issues within the project.
  • Ensure compliance with internal corporate governance and support the preparation of relevant documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with both client and internal stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the procurement and supply chain teams to support the drafting and negotiation of key subcontracts, ensuring appropriate flow down of risk.

This is a full-time role (37 hours per week) with hybrid working arrangements, requiring one office visit per month to either Stoke Gifford (Bristol), Warrington (Cheshire), or Leicester (Leicestershire).

Essential experience of the Commercial Manager:

  • Experience managing contracts of medium to high complexity, value, or risk.
  • Strong understanding of contract management and the principles of end-to-end commercial lifecycle management.
  • Proven experience in procuring complex construction and engineering contracts for major projects.
  • Familiarity with both bespoke and standard forms of contract, particularly NEC3 and NEC4.
  • Ability to lead and instil confidence in a team, effectively managing setbacks, resolving internal issues, and overcoming challenges.

Qualifications for the Commercial Manager:

  • Educated to degree level in Law or Quantity Surveying or holds an equivalent qualification.
  • Alternatively, possesses relevant professional experience in lieu of formal qualifications.

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
