The role
As a Project Controls Manager within the central project controls team, you’ll play a vital role in delivering complex, high-impact programmes within the nuclear sector. This is an exciting opportunity to influence how project controls systems are implemented and optimised across major programmes, enabling smarter decision-making and improved performance. You’ll act as a subject matter expert, leading the management of our enterprise project controls systems, driving data accuracy, automation, and insight across the business. Your work will directly support critical national infrastructure and provide you with exposure to a wide network of project professionals, strengthening both your technical expertise and leadership capability.
Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:
- Driving the continuous improvement of the enterprise project controls systems across programmes
- Leading on the production and use of automated reports and dashboards to enable data-driven decision-making
- Managing systems and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and governance of project data
- Acting as a subject matter expert, troubleshooting issues and advising on best practice
- Collaborating with project managers, project controllers and the Babcock global project controls teams to deliver integrated solutions.
This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week based in Warrington, Cheshire with hybrid working patterns available.
Essential experience of the Project Controls Manager
- Demonstrating strong experience in project controls, cost engineering, or project planning
- Using industry-standard tools such as Primavera P6, SAP, Risk Hive, or Deltek Cobra
- Managing and maintaining complex data systems within a project environment
- Influencing stakeholders and working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
- Delivering outcomes in a fast-paced, programme-driven environment.
Qualifications for the Project Controls Manager
- Degree or equivalent experience in engineering, project management, or a related discipline
- Professional accreditation (such as APM or equivalent) is desirable.
