Shape the supply chains behind critical training services. At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together. If you join us, you can play your part as a Procurement and Supply Chain Manager supporting our Land Training business, with regular travel to London Fire Brigade sites and other customer locations.

The role involves:

  • Delivering procurement and supply chain solutions across operational contracts, strategic projects and business bids.
  • Supporting programmes that provide training and training support services to the Armed Forces and emergency services.
  • Ensuring customers have the equipment, services and specialist capabilities they need to be mission‑ready when it matters.
  • Working closely with operational leaders, suppliers and stakeholders to drive value, improve performance and develop innovative procurement strategies across a diverse portfolio of goods and services.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities include:

  • Developing and delivering procurement strategies across operational contracts, projects and bids.
  • Leading sourcing, tendering and contract placement activities to secure high‑quality supplier solutions.
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for value creation and operational improvement.
  • Managing supplier performance, risk and governance activities to ensure successful contract delivery.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives, sustainable value and best‑practice procurement across the Land Training business.

This role is based remotely, with regular travel to London Fire Brigade sites in London approximately twice per month. Occasional travel to other Babcock and customer sites will also be required, with travel and subsistence expenses covered in line with company policy.

Essential experience includes:

  • Extensive procurement experience across the full sourcing‑to‑contract placement lifecycle.
  • Strong commercial and contract management experience, including negotiating and placing supplier agreements.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and influence at different organisational levels.
  • Experience developing and managing complex supply chains in a fast‑paced operational environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify opportunities to improve value and performance.

Qualifications: CIPS qualification or working towards CIPS is desirable.

Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
