Role Type: Full time / Permanent
The role involves shaping the future of secure engineering and protecting what matters most. Working within our Mission Systems team, you’ll lead and influence how security is designed into systems from concept to operation, ensuring robust protection against evolving threats. This role is full time, 37 hours per week, and provides hybrid working arrangements with days onsite and days working from home.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive Information Assurance strategies to meet complex customer security requirements.
- Lead risk management activities aligning with industry standards such as NIST SP 800-37 or the ISO/IEC 27000 series.
- Create and maintain security documentation, including system security plans, policies, procedures, and compliance evidence.
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders to provide expert guidance on security and assurance matters.
Essential experience:
- Interpretation and implementation of industry security standards and frameworks such as the ISO/IEC 27000 series or NIST SP‑800 series.
- Experience in information assurance, security engineering, cyber security, or a similar field.
- Deep understanding of security risk management and assurance methodologies and processes.
- Experience working across multi‑disciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate technical security risk to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Experience in nuclear, defence, or similarly regulated sectors (desirable).
Qualifications:
- Relevant higher education qualification or industry certification such as CISSP, CISM, or ISO27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Must be Sole UK National.
