The Role
As a Bench Joiner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be working in a small but highly effective maintenance team where the highest of standards will be expected from both a technical and behavioural perspective.
Day-to-day, you’ll be making packing cases and storage boxes from raw material & supporting general site maintenance. Protecting precision machine components of various sizes.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Ashton Vale, Bristol.
Essential Experience and Skills of the Bench Joiner
- Operating woodworking machinery
- Using hand tools
- Manufacturing wooden products to a high standard
- Working to job specifications
- Supporting site maintenance
- Lifting raw materials (Overhead crane training will be provided)
- Experience of working in a joinery workshop
- Ability to follow health and safety policies
Qualifications for the Bench Joiner
- Recognised carpentry or joinery qualification
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. However, the successful candidate will be eligible to start on Standard (BPSS) but will then need to obtain Security Check (SC) once in post.
