The predicted salary is between 35000 - 45000 £ per year.

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support the successful delivery of projects that underpin critical defence, aerospace and engineering programmes. Working closely with experienced Project Managers, you will take ownership of defined work packages, contribute to project controls, and support delivery activities that directly impact national security and essential infrastructure.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Supporting project delivery in line with lifecycle and governance standards
  • Delivering defined work packages within agreed scope, time and cost
  • Producing project reports, dashboards and documentation aligned to PMO standards
  • Engaging with internal stakeholders across business and technology teams
  • Monitoring progress, risks and issues to keep projects on track

This role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week and can be based at one of our main UK locations including Portsmouth, Bristol, Warrington, Devonport, Leicester, Rosyth. Hybrid working arrangements are available.

Essential Experience:

  • Experience supporting project delivery or project coordination activities
  • Exposure to information technology, digital or change environments
  • Understanding of project governance, reporting and controls
  • Ability to work with a range of stakeholders and build effective relationships
  • Strong organisational and communication skills

Qualifications:

  • Foundation-level project management qualification (such as PRINCE2 or Association for Project Management)
  • Further project management certification or training would be advantageous

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
