The Role

The Production Project Manager role is based within our Mission Systems business area and is a unique opportunity to work on a programme delivering a new class of submarine. Babcock is a trusted provider of integrated solutions for global defence and security. We have a wide portfolio of best-in-class intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance solutions, communications, and weapons launch and handling solutions across all domains, integrating the best of industry to meet our customers’ needs.

Day-to-day, you’ll drive to deliver the project safely, on time and within budget, whilst meeting superior quality standards.

We are driven by curiosity and the desire to improve. We seek collaboration to not only deliver the project; but to improve our own skillsets and others around us.

  • Take responsibility of the delivery of several pieces of equipment and will therefore have influence over our daily workings – following and implementing best practices within scheduling, cost control, risk management and procurement whilst working with stakeholders from across the team and wider business, to help drive delivery momentum and achieve the project goals.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Ashton Vale, Bristol.

Experience and Skills of the Production Project Manager

  • Production / manufacturing experience.
  • Knowledge of project controls tools and how these tools operate to provide key information for decision making.
  • Commercially and financially astute, with a challenging mind-set.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills – communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels and with external bodies.

Qualifications for the Production Project Manager

  • PFQ or PMQ (desirable) or equivalent

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
