The role

As a Painter, you’ll work on a diverse fleet, from quad bikes to armoured vehicles like Challenger 2 tanks and light infantry vehicles such as the Foxhound. Your work will directly support military equipment readiness and operational capability.

Your daily tasks will include preparing vehicles for painting through washing, cleaning, masking, blasting, filling, and sanding. You will perform painting using techniques such as spraying, patch painting, and rolling, ensuring all work meets standards and specifications. Additionally, you will:

• Perform pre-use checks on equipment
• Maintain stock levels
• Follow customer requirements, regulations, and technical instructions

Please note that the successful candidate will need to pass a medical questionnaire and/or examination as a condition of employment.

This role involves manual work, including lifting, bending, using tools, and standing for extended periods.

It is a full-time position, 37 hours per week, based onsite at Catterick.

Essential experience

• Experience spray painting heavy commercial vehicles

Qualifications

• Level 3 in Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) / National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) in paint spraying
• Valid UK driving licence

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain SC security clearance. Eligibility may be affected by nationality, citizenship, or residency. More details are available at UK Security Vetting: clearance levels – GOV.UK.
