At Cavendish Nuclear, we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together. If you join us, you can play your part as a Construction Engineer – HVAC at the Hinkley Point C new nuclear build in Bridgwater, Somerset. This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance works across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main MEH, cabling, and associated support services.
The role
As a Construction Engineer – HVAC, you’ll lead, manage and motivate the team through implementation of best practices, support continuous improvement programmes to improve processes/procedures and ensure compliance with all nuclear safety and site license requirements. Day to day, you’ll deliver HVAC Construction Workpacks to support the MEH Alliance programme as well as providing and demonstrating a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the project.
- Enable the use of the Procon system to support the construction works and progress reporting of the MEH Alliance.
- Enable the requesting and compliance of the MEH Alliance for the Work Authorisation and Permit systems operated by NNB.
- Enable the co-ordination of safe access routing to workfaces to support the MEH Alliance construction works.
- Enable the topographical and other surveying required to support the MEH Alliance construction works.
- Prioritisation and ownership of documentation to enable construction works as per the level 4 plan (e.g., T-3 months accepted prior to works).
- Ensuring documents are compliant with latest works information and other MEH documentation.
Essential experience of the Construction Engineer – HVAC:
- Experience working on major construction projects with a proven track record of working in a highly regulated sector.
- Knowledge and experience in Safe Systems of Work.
- Experienced in delivering and operating at Engineer or Senior Engineer level, including experience working within Joint Ventures.
Qualifications for the Construction Engineer – HVAC:
- Degree qualification or equivalent vocational training and experience of installing HVAC systems.
