The role
As a Finance Assistant, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is a key role within the contract performance with a focus on cash generation, budgeting and forecasting.

Day-to-day, you’ll assist in the reporting of the contract monthly accounts, budgets and forecasts, ensure billing is accurate and timely, assist in the preparation of key financial data in support of customer and stakeholder management and provide support to pricing activity and the associated governance process.

Customer billing and related query resolution.

Prepare customer facing balance sheet control account reconciliations and perform rectification actions required to resolve queries or issues.

Prepare contract specific journals.

Assist Management Accountant in monthly Cost Reviews with Operations.

Ensure integrity of accounting data via robust, timely transactional processing and establish, create and maintain appropriate processes to ensure effective financial and business controls.

This role is part time, 22 hours per week and requires regular travel to Portsmouth on a weekly / monthly basis alongside home working arrangements.

Essential experience of the Finance Assistant

Extensive experience in the use of Microsoft Office 2010 suite of applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Sharepoint.

Experience of Finance IT applications (e.g. SAP, Navision, IFS etc.)

Previous experience of working in a very process driven role.
