The role involves overall operational management of staff and providing strategic direction and leadership to ensure Contractual Performance compliance is achieved. This position offers an opportunity to make a tangible impact on the organisation’s security posture, playing a critical role in defending against all potential threats to site and safeguarding business continuity.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Acting as the second-in-command to the Incident Response Manager, overseeing the incident response team, coordinating response efforts and implementing best practices to enhance the organisation’s resilience.
- Assisting in leading the response to all security and safety incidents, including detection, containment, eradication, and recovery phases.
- Acting as a mentor and leader for all Incident Response Staff, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing while providing support and guidance during high-pressure situations.
- Collaborating with customer security teams and threat intelligence teams to analyse potential threats and assess their impact on the site.
- Ensuring all key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the Incident Response Teams are complied with, including security, safety, and medical indicators.
- Leading and inspiring teams while promoting company values, exhibiting appropriate behaviour in accordance with company ethos and demonstrating a strong security and safety culture.
- Challenging behaviour and reporting issues when standards and expectations fall below required levels.
This role is full time, 40 hours per week and is based on site at Capenhurst. As this is a 24/7 service, there will be a requirement to work outside of office hours, evenings, and weekends, so flexibility is essential.
Essential experience:
- Experience in leadership and management delivering in a pressurised operational environment.
- Experience of leadership in security, with a focus on incident response or threat management.
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of security and safety concepts, tools, and incident response frameworks.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with a team-oriented mindset and a proactive and decisive approach.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritise workloads, manage contractual requirements from the customer with timescales and challenging deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Formal management qualification or time served relevant experience.
- Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
