The role

As an Assistant Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering critical consultancy projects that support national infrastructure and energy security. This role is based in Warrington, Cheshire and operates on a 37-hour working week, with flexible working arrangements in place.

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:

  • Supporting project delivery by contributing to planning, scheduling, financial tracking and risk management activities
  • Developing and maintaining project schedules, including resource loading and cost forecasting
  • Monitoring and controlling work packages delivered by internal and external teams
  • Producing governance packs, project reports and performance metrics such as SPI and CPI
  • Engaging with stakeholders to support communication plans and ensure project alignment

Essential experience of the Assistant Project Manager:

  • Working within a project environment with exposure to project lifecycle activities
  • Developing or supporting project schedules and plans, ideally using recognised tools such as Primavera P6
  • Supporting financial tracking, cost control or project reporting
  • Collaborating with stakeholders and contributing to project communications
  • Applying structured project management methodologies and governance processes

Qualifications for the Assistant Project Manager:

  • Degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • APM Project Fundamentals Qualification or PRINCE2 Foundation (desirable)

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
