The role
As a Training Developer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be a creative force within the People Capability Enhancement Programme (PCEP), helping shape how competencies are trained for the current and future workforce. You’ll work closely with analysts, designers, and subject matter experts to develop sustainable, high-impact training solutions that support the regeneration of submarine capability. This is a unique opportunity to influence learning strategy in a complex engineering environment and grow your career in a high-profile programme.
Day-to-day, you’ll lead the development of training outcomes, collaborate with experts to define objectives, support analysts in content design, drive continuous improvement, and ensure consistency in training delivery.
- Leading the development of training outcomes based on analysis and design documents
- Collaborating with subject matter experts to define proficiency levels and learning objectives
- Supporting training analysts in identifying key learning points and enabling objectives
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in training content and delivery
- Providing guidance to trainers to ensure consistency and quality across the organisation
This role is full time 35, hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential experience of the Training Developer
- Experience in the defence sector (desirable but not essential)
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Extensive previous experience in a complex engineering or educational environment
- Familiarity with compliance training and defence industry standards
Qualifications for the Training Developer
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 / ONC in a technical discipline or educational/training setting
- Level 4 and above qualification or transferable experience in a relevant subject or role
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
