The role involves supporting the safe movement, storage, inspection and maintenance of vehicles and equipment. Working within our Land sector, you'll help ensure valuable assets are received, stored, maintained and issued in line with customer requirements and operational procedures.
This is a varied and hands-on opportunity for someone with experience in logistics, warehousing, stores or vehicle operations who enjoys working in a dynamic environment where safety, teamwork and attention to detail are essential. Your work will directly contribute to the operational readiness of equipment that supports UK defence capabilities.
Day-to-day, you will be:
- Loading and unloading vehicles and equipment within the storage facility.
- Transporting assets safely across site using authorised vehicles and equipment.
- Carrying out basic maintenance, husbandry and inspection activities on stored assets.
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting faults, defects and discrepancies.
- Supporting safe storage operations and operating specialist handling equipment where trained and authorised.
This role is full time working 37 hours per week and is based on site at Ashchurch, Gloucestershire.
Essential experience:
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Experience working within a logistics, warehouse, stores or operational environment.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and work to established procedures.
- Understanding of safe working practices and working within regulated environments.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied workload.
Qualifications:
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Category C+E Driving Licence (desirable).
- Category H Driving Licence (desirable).
- Material Handling Equipment Operator Certification (desirable).
Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
