The role involves providing essential support to the Safety, Health and Environment function, helping ensure that operations across Devonport Royal Dockyard meet legal, regulatory and organisational requirements.
Day-to-day, you'll work closely with advisors, managers and operational teams, supporting monitoring, reporting and assurance activities that directly influence safety performance and environmental compliance. Your contribution will help reduce risk, support continuous improvement and enable safe delivery across defence operations - while developing valuable experience for future progression.
- Supporting safety, health and environmental activities, including inspections, monitoring and data collection
- Maintaining records and registers, ensuring documentation remains accurate and up to date
- Assisting with incident reporting and investigations, helping identify trends and improvement actions
- Producing reports and basic management information, supporting audits and assurance activities
- Engaging with operational teams and stakeholders, promoting safe and environmentally responsible working
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential experience:
- Experience working in a safety, environmental or compliance focused role, or a regulated environment
- Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records
- Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to tasks
- Confidence communicating with colleagues at different levels
- Basic IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office
Qualifications:
- A Levels or equivalent Level 3 qualification, or suitable relevant experience
- GCSEs in Maths and English, Grade C or equivalent

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
